Akin and as I have know objection you may proceed When applied to in granting the saim I Remain 
your humble

Know all Men by these Presents that We Charles Puckett & Thomas Cock (Son of John) are held and 
firmly bound to James Monroe Esqr Govenor or Chief Magistrate of the CommonWealth of Virginia, 
in the sum of one hundred and fifty Dollars, to the which Payment well and truly to be made to 
the said Govenor or his Seccessors, we bind ourselves our Heirs Executors and Administrators 
jointly and Severally firmly by these Presents.  Sealed and Dated this 2d Day of December 1801.

The Condition of the above obligation is such that whereas there as a marriage shortly intended 
to be had and solemnized between the above bound Charles Puckett & Betsey Ann Akin.

If therefore there be no Legal cause to obstruct the same then this obligation to be Void.
