Douglas Enterprise - December 15, 2013
 Mrs. Thelma Harper Meeks, age 82, of Douglas passed away Saturday evening, 
December 7, 2013, at the Coffee Regional Medical Center, following a short 
illness.
 Mrs. Meeks was born August 16, 1931, to the late Allen Harper and the late 
Eliza Young Harper.
 Mrs. Meeks, a native of Coffee County, was a homemaker and wife of the late 
Marvin Junior Meeks. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Colleen 
Harper and Dorothy Courson, nine brothers, Homer Harper, Elzie Harper, Edgar 
Harper, Buddy Harper, T.J. Harper, Milton Harper, Russell Harper, Milton 
Harper, Russell Harper, Lyman Harper, and Ralph Harper.
 Mrs. Meeks was a member of the Faith Chapel Church.
 Survivors include several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives, 
including her niece and caregiver, Darlene Barlow, of Pearson, GA, and a 
special niece, Kaylee, Wilkes.
 Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at 3 p.m. at the Chapel 
of Ricketson Funeral Home, with Rev. Toby Gale and Rev. Don Dixon officiating.
 Interment followed in the Carver Chapel Cemetery in Jeff Davis County.
 Pallbearers were jerry Harper, Alton Hammontree, Monroe Larney, Wiley Cato, 
Francis J. Larney, Glenn McIntosh.
 The congregation served as honorary pallbearers.
 Special musical selections, Down at the River, was presented by the pianist 
and soloist, Peggy Hall, That's Jesus, was presented by the soloist, Monroe
Larney
Larney with cd music and What a Day That will Be, was rendered by the pianist 
and soloist, Margie Smith. Prelude and postlude soft hymns were presented by 
the pianist, Peggy Hall.
 Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
