Mrs. Rhoda Sutton Mathis
	Mrs. Rhoda Sutton Mathis of 410 W. Washington Street, Nashville, died 
Tuesday, May 20, at Smith Nursing Home in Hahira following a lengthy illness.
	A retired housewife and member of Nashville First Baptist Church, Mrs. 
Mathis was born in Coffee County Dec. 24, 1885, and was 89 years of age.
	The Rev. Don Bowick led funeral services Thursday, May 22, 11 a.m. at 
First Baptist Church.  Mrs. N.G. Houston rendered soft organ music throughout 
the ceremony.  Interment was in city cemetery.
	Surviving is one daughter, Mrs. M.B. Jones, of Wrens; one son, W.H. 
(Bill) Mathis of Nashville; one sister, Mattie Sutton of Nashville; seven 
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
	Active pallbearers were J.W. Carter, Albert Folsom, James Garrett, 
Jack Moody, Hardy Giddens and Billy Giddens.
	Lovein Funeral Home handled arrangements.
