Douglas Enterprise - November 20, 2013
 Mr. Roy L. Jones, Jr., age 86, of Douglas, GA passed away on Wednesday, 
November 13, 2013, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended 
illness.
 Mr. Jones was born on May 21, 1927, in Monroe, GA to the late Ruby Bailey 
Jones and Roy L. Jones, Sr. He was the manager of WDMG Radio for 46 years.
 Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Fender Jones of Douglas, GA; two sons, 
Ricky Jones and Mark Jones both of Douglas, GA; two daughters, Cathy (Danny) 
Wright of Douglas, GA and Carole (Andy) Vaughn of Axson, GA; brother, Larry 
(Dorothy) Jones of Winder, GA; sister, Elizabeth Toler of Monroe, GA; two 
sisters-in-law, Polly Jones of Winder, GA and Vicki Jones of Monroe, GA; six 
grandchildren, Carmen Wright, Daniel (Mickey) Vickers, Will Wright, Melissa 
Vaughn, Andrea Vaughn, and Tyler Vaughn; two great grandchildren, Hunter 
Stewart and Maylie Vickers and several nieces and nephews.
 The Funeral service was held on Friday, November 15, 2013, at 2 p.m. at First 
United Methodist Church with Rev. Benji Varnell, Rev. Sam Vernon and Rev. Jim 
Osborne officiating and Jimmy Roberts reading a poem, Cathy Threatt speaking 
about the Lions Club, and John Higgs speaking about the radio.
 Interment followed at Douglas City Cemetery.
 Music was furnished for the service by Frank Pridemore How Great Thou Art, A.J.
McDonald 
A.J. McDonald The Wind Beneath My Wings, and congregation Amazing Grace with
Jane Kimbell playing the organ.
 Active pallbearers were David Lott, Charles Cross, Craig McCrary, Chris, 
with Jane Kimbell playing the organ.
 Active pallbearers were David Lott, Charles Cross, Craig McCrary, Chris, Tuten
Tuten, Steve Wright, Bob Porter, Mike Green, Brian McNeil.
 Honorary pallbearers were Whitfield Sunday School Class, American Legion, John 
Coffee, Buddy Deen, Personnel of M.R. Training Center, Douglas Lions Club, Past 
District Governors and Lion Friends.
 Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
