Atkinson County Citizen - September 13, 2012
 Mrs. Doris Rowe Jacobs, age 86, of Douglas passed away Sunday, at her r
residence, September 2, 2012, following a short illness.
 Mrs. Jacobs, a native of Atkinson County, was a retired store manager. She had 
previously worked with Holt's Bakery. She was the daughter of the late Willie
Washin
Washington Rowe and the late Mary Ann Knowles Rowe. She was also preceded in death 
death by her husband, Joe Benjamin Jacobs and a daughter, Jo Carol Everidge.
  Mrs. Jacobs attended the Willacoochee Church of God.
  Survivors include sons, Alfred Lee Jacobs, and Joey Lee Jacobs both of Doug
Douglas, GA; sister, Marion Delois Smith of Willacoochee, GA; grandchildren, Bria
Brian Messick of Bluefield, WV and Allen Messick of Douglas, GA and 4 great gran
grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also surv
survive.
 Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at 3:30 p.m. at the Wil
Willacoochee Church of God, with Rev. Daniel Sansot officiating. A special poem was
was presented by her sister, Marion Delois Smith. 
 The interment followed in the Willacoochee City Cemetery.
  Active pallbearers were Cade Graham, Howard Laney, Patrick Rowe, Brian M
Messick, B. J. Kight, Rickey DuPree.
 Special musical selections, I Can Only Imagine When I Get To Where I am 
Going, The Anchor Holds, were presented by CD music and The Dance, was 
presented by the soloist, Scott Clinton, with CD music and Happy Birthday was 
rendered by the Congregation. At the graveside, Amazing Grace, was presented by
the
by the congregation.
Ricketson Funeral  Home was in charge of the arrangements
