Atkinson County Citizen - July 16, 2006
 Mr. Jimmy Ray Fussell, age 57, of Douglas, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 
2006 in Lowndes County, GA as a result of injuries received in a MVA. Mr. 
Fussell, a native of Coffee County was born November 1, 1948, son of the late 
Roscoe and Helen Louise Veal Fussell. He was of the Baptist faith and a former 
member of the Coachman Quartet. He was a retired hospital maintenance engineer. 
Sister, Martha Faye Fussell preceded him in death.
 Survivors include, wife, Virginia Ruth "Jenny" Day Fussell, daughters, Helen 
Charlotte (Duke) Emmerson, Lake Butler, FL, Tonya (Josh) Russ, Nicholls, son, 
Mark (Shonda) Merritt, Douglas; brother, Lewis Wayne (Linda) Fussell, Douglas; 
sister, Virginia (Charles) Faulkner, Douglas, grandchildren, Trista Merritt, 
Brady Merritt, Case Emerson, Zenan Merritt, Baily Russ and Tyler Russ, several 
nieces and nephews also survive.
 Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 2, 2006 at Sims Funeral 
Home Chapel with Rev. Toby Gale and Rev. Glen Fussell officiating. Soloist, 
Lisa Underhill and Troy Underhill, guitarist sang "Daddy's Hands," "Go Rest 
High On That Mountain," and "It Is Well With My Soul," Jim Williams, organist 
provided a "Musical Interlude" and Lois Mills, pianist provided soft music for 
the prelude and postlude. Burial followed in the Griffin Cemetery near Ambrose.
 Active pallbearers were Jim Hall, Ron Willis, Jimmy Williams, Rick 
Ricciardelli, Jackie Cribbs, Joe Day, Laurence Day, Darrell  Tucker.
 Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Krishnan Chalam and staff, Winfred Smith, Donnie 
Smith, Bill Westmoreland, Herschel Veal, Kenneth Veal, Clinton Russ, Vernon 
Carver, Ladel Veal.
 Sims Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
