The Berrien Press -- Thomas Carter "Tom" Freeman, 68, of Douglas died January 
28, 2006 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas.
 Born August 10, 1937 in Atlanta to the late Carter Reid "Doc" and Faye Powell 
Freeman of Nashville, he was reared in Brunswick and Nashville and made his 
home in Douglas for the past 40 years. He was a retired manager of Sears 
Roebuck where he won many awards during his 20 years of service. Several years 
after he retired, the Freeman family purchased VIP Fabricare Drycleaners. He 
was a member of Douglas First Baptist Church, past president of the Douglas-
Coffee County Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Past President's Council of 
the local Chamber, a past president of the Douglas Lions Club, and also a 
Mason.
 Survivors include his wife, Anna Inman Freeman of Douglas; two sons, Rod 
Freeman and Randy Freeman, both of Douglas, four grandchildren.
 Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. January 31 at Douglas First Baptist 
Church with Rev. Shep Johnson officiating. Wayne McKinnon gave the eulogy, Dr. 
Diskin Morgan, soloist, sang "Amazing Grace," Ryan Wilson led the congregation 
in singing "How Great Thou Art," accompanied by Pam Morris, organist.
 Interment was in Douglas City Cemetery.
 Active pallbearers were Wayne McKinnon, Jess Tanner, Francis Lott, Tommy 
Scott, Dr. William "Bill" Willis, Billy Kirkland, L.D. Morgan, Sr., and Clint 
Inman.
  Honorary pallbearers were past presidents of Douglas-Coffee County Chamber 
of Commerce, David Vickers and Floyd Luttrell.
 Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
