T. H. Brown, 95 Buried Sunday at New Hope

One of Coffee County's oldest residents passed away Friday afternoon, 
January 12, when Thomas Hardy "T. H." Brown died at the family home on RFD 1 
Ambrose at the age of 95 following an extended illness.

A native of Upson County, Mr. Brown was a retired farmer and had suffered an 
extended illness.

He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and funeral services were held 
there Sunday afternoon, January 14, at 3 o'clock with the former pastor, the 
Rev. T. D. Stanfield, assisted by the Rev. H. J. Johnston officiating.

Interment was in New Hope Cemetery.  Edwin Durden, Shelton Paulk, Oliver 
Smith, Jr., Howard Smith, Homer Ragsdale and Billy Dees pallbearers.  
Serving as honorary pallbearers were J. P. Johnson, Howell Minchew, Hubert 
McDermitt, W. C. Ragsdale, M. L. Paulk Jordan Davis, P. L. Jowers, Jr., C. 
E. Green, Henry Vickers, Elmer Smith, Elzie Mercer O. E. Smith, H. B. 
Benson, F. R. Griffin Herbert Mote H. E. Akens, W. S. Holland, Oswald 
Vickers, Arthur Baker, Claude Harper and Edwin Vaughn.

The deceased is survived by his widow Mrs. Leola Webster Brown, a daughter, 
Mrs. Mable Brown, of Ambrose one son, Webster Brown, Jackson, SC and two 
grandchildren.

Sims Funeral Home of Douglas was in charge of arrangements.
