Jeanette Murray Jordan
Graveside services for Jeanette Murray Jordan, 88, Quitman, are at 10 a.m., 
Friday, May 16, 2003 in Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. John Walker 
officiating. Mrs. Jordan died Tuesday, May 13 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. 
Born in Cook County, she was the daughter of John Edward and Inelle Folsom 
Murray. She was a graduate of Valdosta State College and remained active with 
the Sigma chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma sorority. She was a retired 
schoolteacher for the Brooks County School System, was a member of Quitman 
United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and 
served on many committees in the Hazel Matthews Circle. She is survived by a 
sister, Lillian Murray Martin of Thomasville; two brothers, George Washington 
Murray of Quitman, Thomas Eugene (Dolly) Murray of Phillips Port, N.Y.; sister-
in-law, Billie Murray of Quitman; cousin, Mildred Southwell of Quitman; 18 
nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her 
husband, James Leland Jordan; two brothers, James Lamar Murray and John Edward 
Murray Jr.; and a sister, Christine Murray Powell. In lieu of flowers, 
contributions may be made to Quitman United Methodist Church or their favorite 
charity. The family will receive friends at Mrs. Jordan's home Thursday
