Services for Richard (Bud) Carl Hunter Sr., 65, Boston, will be at 3 p.m. 
Saturday, July 26, 2003 at St. John AME Church on Main Street in Boston with 
Rev. Clement Choice, pastor of Payton of AME Church in Valdosta, Rev. Joseph 
Hankins of St. John AME Church officiating. Interment will be at Boston 
Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Earl Brooks, Aaron Mitchum, John Law, 
Benjamin Choice, Eugene Brooks, Joseph Laurence, and Stephen Glenn. Mr. Hunter 
passed away Monday, July 21, 2003 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born Sept. 7, 
1937 in Brooks County, Ga., he was the son of the late Taylor and Johnnie P. 
Hunter. Mr. Hunter was married to Bertha Covington, who survivors. He was a 
lifetime resident of Thomas County, a product of the Thomas County Schools, a 
laborer, honorably discharged from the U.S. Airforce, and a member of Richland 
Missionary Baptist Church. Other survivors include sons Jarvis P. Hunter and 
Richard C. Hunter, Jr.; daughter Janet L. Hunter; sons Jamey C. Hunter and 
Jerel L. Hunter, all of Boston; daughter Joyce (Willliam) Mitchell of Meigs; 
son Gary (Sue) Covington of Tampa, Fla.; brothers Rudolph (DeDe) Hunter and 
Bobby (Geri) Hunter, both of Camden, N.J., and David (Katherine) Hunter of 
Atlanta, Herbert (Arnette) Hunter of Columbus, Ga., Harold Hunter of Fort 
Lauderdale, Fla., and Zachrous Hunter of Washington, D.C.; sisters Dorothy 
Hunter of Boston, Geraldine Hunter of Madison, Fla., and Carolyn Toller of 
Ohio; and brother Timothy Hunter of Boston; sister Machelle Hunter of Camden, 
New Jersey; 12 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a host of aunts, 
one uncle, nieces, nephews and friends. -- Hatcher-Peoples Funeral Home
