Julius C. Heard
Services for Julius C. Heard, 75, Bainbridge, are at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 3, 
2003 at Morningside Baptist Church in Bainbridge. The Rev. Lee Lee Wilson and 
the Rev. Leon Van Landingham will officiate and interment is in Bethany Baptist 
Church Cemetery in Brinson. Active pallbearers are Carey Heard, Rodney Heard, 
Dale Heard, Trent Heard, Russell Heard, Kenneth Blair, Terry Heard, Jace Heard, 
Aaron Heard, Cody Heard, Dusten Heard, Reid Heard, Tucker Heard, Grayson Heard 
and Brad Lambert. Mr. Heard died Wednesday, April 30 at Bainbridge Memorial 
Hospital in Bainbridge. Born July 21, 1927 in Decatur County, he was the son of 
Emmett J. Heard and Allie Kendrick Heard. He was a graduate of West Bainbridge 
High School and married Betty Sue Grady on June 11, 1955. He served in the U.S. 
Navy during World War II. He was a PBX-IR technician with Southern Bell 
Telephone Company for 38 years. He was a member of the Communications Workers 
of America, Telephone Pioneers of America, American Legion Post 62 and 
Morningside Baptist Church. He was a Boy Scout leader for many years. Survivors 
include his wife, Betty Sue Grady Heard of Bainbridge; five sons, J. Carey 
Heard (Delores), Rodney W. Heard (Lynn), Dale Heard (Jill), C. Trent Heard 
(April) and Russell L. Heard all of Bainbridge; three brothers, Louie Heard of 
Bainbridge, Ed Heard of Marietta, S.C. and James Heard of Jacksonville, Fla.; 
two sisters, Anna Wilder of Marietta, S.C., Teri Brugal of Miami, Fla.; 13 
grandchildren, Shannon Heard of Jacksonville, Jace Heard, Melissa Lambert, Brad 
Lambert, Morgan Heard, Reid Heard, Tucker Heard, Grayson Heard, Aaron Heard, 
Cody Heard, Dusten Heard, Ben Heard and Ivy Lee Heard all of Bainbridge; two 
great-grandchildren, Taylor Lambert and Trey Lambert both of Bainbridge. He was 
preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Deanne Heard; and a brother, Marvin 
Neely Heard. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the
