The Cairo Messenger, Friday, August 9, 1918
Mrs. Fannie Hall Passes Away At Beachton

News of the death at Beachton of Mrs. Fannie Hall, which occurred last Monday
evening, about seven o'clock, came as a shock to her many friends in Cairo.
The cause of her death was the result of heart failure, and came suddenly as
she was preparing to retire for the night.

Mrs. Hall was 82 years of age and was a native of Thomas County. She was the
widow of the late James. T. Hall, and before her marriage was Miss Fannie
Mitchell, a member of one of Thomas county's oldest and most prominent families
and widely connected throughout this section of the state. Mrs. Hall was a
woman of strong and lovely character, and one of the few remaining
representatives of the Southern woman of ante bellum days. She was a woman
loved and liked by all whom she came in contact, and will be sadly missed by
every one.

Mrs. Hall is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Albert Moller, Mrs. D. Bowen,
Miss Mattie and Miss Fannie Hall and two sons, Messrs. James T. Hall and Will
Hall.

She was a sister to Judge Robert G. Mitchell and Mrs. K. T. McLean of
Thomasville and Mrs. James Blackshear of Beachton.

The funeral services were conducted at the Mitchell cemetery at the old family
homestead near Beachton. It was conducted by the Rev. J. E. Seals of the
Thomasville Methodist church. A large number of relatives and friends were
present to pay the last tribute of respect to one who was widely known and
loved. Several from Cairo attended the funeral services.
