Ruby L. Gravenstein
Services for Ruby L. Gravenstein, 79, Savannah, were at 2 p.m., Monday, July 
7, 2003 at Calvary Baptist Temple. The Rev. Dr. John S. Connell officiated and 
interment is in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park -- East Mausoleum. Active 
pallbearers wree Edwin L. Gravenstein III, Johnny Williams, Jimmy DeLoach, 
Chuck Poythress, Donald Poythress, Neil Poythress and Herb Black. Mrs. 
Gravenstein died Friday, July 4 at Grady General Hospital in Cairo. Born in 
Bulloch County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Herbert DeLoach and Anna 
Byrd DeLoach. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Temple where 
she was an active member in her Sunday school class. Survivors include a son 
and daughter-in-law, Edwin L. Jr. and Cheryl Gravenstein of Cairo; two 
grandchildren, Laura Elizabeth Gravenstein and Edwin L. "Trey" Gravenstein III 
both of Cairo; two sisters, Melrose Collins of Savannah, Claudine Alewine of 
Mesa, Ariz.; and a brother, James DeLoach of Savannah. Preceding her in death 
were her husband, Major Edwin Lloyd Gravenstein Sr., U.S. Army (Ret.); 
parents; and a sister, Eloise Moss. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist 
Day School Education Fund, 4625 Waters Ave., Savannah, Ga. 31406. -- Clark
