Thomasville Times Enterprise - July 29, 2003

Services for Walter Wayne Davis, 76, of Cairo, are at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 
30, 2003, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Robert Crapps will officiate, 
with interment at Greenwood Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be his nephews. 
Mr. Davis died on Monday, July 28, 2003, at his residence. Born on Dec. 25, 
1927, in Whigham, he was son of the late Hugh L. and Mary Autry Davis. He was 
a lifetime resident of Grady County and was a clerk with the U.S. Post Office 
for many years. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was of the Baptist faith. 
He is survived by his wife, Janelle Thompson Davis of Cairo; sons and 
daughters-in-law, Tracy W. and Denese Davis of Hahira, Walter Blair and Ginger 
Davis of Albany and Tommy Lee Davis of Thomasville; a sister and brother-in-
law, Betty and Dempsey Cain of Whigham; grandchildren, Shelby Davis, Morgan 
Davis and Emily Davis, all of Hahira, Abigail Davis and Allison Davis, both of 
Thomasville. He was preceded in death by brothers, Doug Davis and Ed Davis. 
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Davis home. -- Clark
