Irene Davis Lambert Cumbus
Services for Irene Davis Lambert Cumbus of Thomasville are at 3 p.m., 
Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at Victory Baptist Church. The Rev. Gary Holland and 
the Rev. Thilman Vonier will officiate and interment is in Laurel Hill 
Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Joe Day, Tim Jones, Randall Vonier, Steve 
Parramore, Ronnie Strickland and Tim Willet. Mrs. Cumbus died Sunday, July 6 
at Hospitality Care in Thomasville. Born Jan. 13, 1912 in Pavo, she was a 
daughter of the late Willie Ann Vonier Davis and Hiram Davis. Mrs. Cumbus was 
married to James H. Lambert and John F. Cumbus, both of whom preceded her in 
death. She moved from Thomasville to Palatka, Fla. in 1956 and later returned 
to Thomasville in 1989. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church and a 
homemaker. Survivors include her daughters, Sara Vann, Linda Gail Weaver, both 
of Thomasville; stepdaughters, Jeanette Rogers, Joyce Norris, both of Palatka; 
four stepsons, Rodney Cumbus, Tony Cumbus, Ronald Cumbus, Mitchell Cumbus, all 
of Palatka; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a host of great-
great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six 
brothers and sisters, George Davis, Lilly Mae Plymel, Kitty Leone Carlson, 
Bruce Davis, Bernard Davis and Huey Stracner. The family will receive friends 
from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. -- Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home
