Benjamin Ray Brantley

Services for Benjamin "Ray" Brantley, age 51, 
of Cairo, are at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2003 
Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home Chapel. The 
Rev. Dr. Virgil Lovett, the Rev. Carl Harrell 
and the Rev. Jerry  Stone will officiate  and 
interment in the Sunset Memory Gardens. 
Mr. Brantley died, April 12 in Columbia, S.C. 
Born Nov. 10, 1951 in Thomas County, he was 
the only son of Bernice Barrett Brantley & the 
late Roy W. Brantley. He was attending SWGA 
Technical College where he was studying to be a 
surgical technician. He was a lifetime member 
of New Shiloh Baptist Church and a veteran of the 
USAF having served in the Cambodian conflict. 
Survivors include a son, Jeffrey Ray Brantley of 
Tampa, Fla.; a daughter, Sandy Joy Brantley of 
Palatka, Fla.; his mother, Bernice B. Brantley of 
Cairo; sister and brother in law, Dianne B.and Virgil 
Lovett of Orlando, Fla., Sisters Myrlene Anderson of 
Marietta, S.C. and Shirley Brown of  Sanford, Fla.; 
four grandchildren; and five nephews. --
Service by Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home.
