The Fulton County news. (McConnellsburg, Pa.): December 28, 1899
On Tuesday evening 13th inst., a pretty wedding was solemnized at the residence of
Rev. Seth F. Myers, pastor of the German Baptist church, Altoona, Pa., when his
daughter Miss Nettie A. Myers was married to Mr. Benjamin F. Ranck, of Warfordsburg,
this county. The happy couple attended by Miss Minnie Shellenberger and Mr. E. Bruce
Ranck, a brother of the groom, entered the parlor at 7.30 o'clock to the strains of
a wedding march rendered by Miss Anna Shellenberger.
There they were met by Elder Walter S. Long, pastor of the German Baptist church of
Tyrone, who pronounced the words that united them for life.
The bride and bridesmaid were tastefully arrayed in white, and carried a bouquet of
white hyacinths and carnations.
The groom and groomsman were dressed in conventional black. The ceremony was
witnessed by a number of invited friends. After congratulations had been extended, a
wedding supper was served.
The groom is an excellent young man and is one of the leading teachers of this
county, as well as a minister of the German Baptist church.
The bride is a very estimable young lady, and was the recipient of many beautiful
and useful presents.
On the 14th inst., Mr. and Mrs. Ranck left Altoona on their wedding trip, and after
spending a few days at Cumberland, Md., arrived at Warfordsburg, where they will
spend some weeks with the groom's mother before going to housekeeping.
Saturday evening 16th a wedding feast was given in honor of the newly married couple
at the home of Mr. Ranck's mother, the immediate relatives of the family being
present. The happy couple received congratulations from their many friends with best
wishes of a very long and happy life.
