Carlys Slater, 58, McConnellsburg, died Friday, February 27, 2004, at her home. 
Born August 28, 1945, in McConnellsburg, she was the daughter of the late Frank 
and Muta Parks Fix. 
She was a machinist at JLG Industries in McConnellsburg. 
She was a member of McConnellsburg United Methodist Church. 
She was a member of American Legion Post 561 Ladies Auxiliary of McConnellsburg 
and VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Greencastle. 
Surviving are her husband, James Slater, whom she married September 15, 1991; 
one son, Brian D. Albert, Cincinnati; one stepdaughter, Karen Clark, Berkeley 
Springs; five sisters: Marie DeRodes, Wooster, Ohio, and Helen Layton, Lois 
Linke, Maxine Bard and Arlene Umbrell, all of McConnellsburg; two brothers: 
Blaine Fix, Harrisonville, and Phillip Fix, Hustontown; one granddaughter; one 
stepgranddaughter and one stepgreat-granddaughter. 
She was preceded in death by one sister, Phyllis Kerlin, and three brothers: 
Harold, Earl and Clair Fix. 
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 2, at 2:00 p.m., at Howard Sipes 
Funeral Home, McConnellsburg. Rev. Donald Bard officiated. Burial was made in 
Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg
