Levi Mellott

	Levi Mellott died at his home near Sipes Mill on Monday, June 22, after 
an Illness of about five days with pneumonia.
	Mr. Mellott was a son of Thomas and Catherine Mellott and was born near 
Sipes Mill, March 30, 1890, being aged 61 yrs., 3 mos. and 22 days.  He was 
united in marriage with Jessie Bard, and is survived by his wife and three 
sons: Merril, Flemington, N.J.; Melvin and Sherman at home; also one brother 
and two sisters, Samuel Mellott, Big Cove Tannery; Mrs. John Pittman and Mrs. 
Harry Shaw, McConnellsburg.  Mr. Mellott followed farming and for sometime had 
carried mail between Harrisonville and Needmore.  He was greatly respected in 
the community where he will be missed as a good citizen and neighbor. He was a 
member of Ebenezer M.E. Church.  For the past six months, or since their home 
burnt, the Mellott family had been residing with Sherman Bard.
	Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 24, at 2:PM from his late 
home, Rev. E. J. Craft of Ft. Loudon, officiated.  Internment was made in 
Sideling Hill Cemetery.
