	Walter F. Lane, Sr., 62, McConnellsburg, died Saturday, May 31, 1977 in 
the University of Pittsburgh Presbyterian Medical Center.
	Born October 15, 1934 in Aitch, Huntington County, he was a son of the 
late William and Verna Park Lane.
	He was a computer systems analyst at Letterkenny Army Depot until 
retiring, he mowed lawns in the McConnellsburg area.
	He was a veteran of the Vietnam War era, having been stationed in 
Germany.
	He married E. Maria Miller on June 29, 1957.
	He was a member of Mount Zion Lodge, McConnellsburg; Harrisburg 
Consistory; Fulton County Rifle and Pistol Club; Safari Club International; 
McConnellsburg  American Legion and McConnellsburg Veterans of Foreign Wars and 
a life member of the McConnellsburg Volunteer Fire Company.
	In addition to his wife, surviving are two sons: Walter F., Jr. of 
McConnellsburg and Joey L., Mercersburg; three grandchildren; two brothers: 
William G. and Benjamin, both of Hustontown and four sisters: Gretchen (Mrs. 
Robert) Gwaltney of San Antonio; Lois Bard of McConnellsburg; Luella Keebaugh 
of Shade Gap and Carol Love of Robertsdale.
	A sister preceded him in death.
	Services were held at 10:30a.m. Wednesday, June 4 at the McConnellsburg 
United Methodist Church, Revs. Donald Bard, Bill Spangler and Donald Reams 
officiated.  Burial was made in Ashbury Methodist Cemetery, Harrisonville.
	Graveside military services were conducted by the Fulton County Honor 
Guard.
	The Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, was in charge 
of arrangements.
