Earl J. Keefer
Shippensburg, 66

	Earl J Keefer, 66, of 100 Walnut Bottom Road, Shippensburg, died 
Saturday, April 12, 1997, at his home.
	Born April 2, 1931, in Sylvan, PA., he was the son of the late William 
R. and Mary E. Mills Keefer.
	He was employed as a laborer by the Waynesboro Construction Co. in 
Waynesboro, PA, and was retired.  He was formerly employed by Williamsport 
Tannery in Williamsport.
	He was a veteran of the Korean War and served with the U.S. Army.
	He was of the Protestant Faith.
	He is survived by his wife, Natalie D. Keefer Keefer: whom he married 
on September 30, 1934; four daughters; Karen Stine, Lisa Keefer and Kimberly 
Ann Keefer, all of Hagerstown, and Glenda Pryor of  Funkstown; three sons: Earl 
R. Keefer of Quincy, PA; Michael L. Keefer and Mark e. Keefer; both of 
Hagerstown , MD; two step-daughters: Debra Weaver of Newburg, PA; and Donna 
Cover of Shippensburg;  three step-sons: Gary Bard of Chambersburg, Richard 
Bard of Shippensburg; Roger Bard of Fayetteville; four sisters: Ruby weaver of 
Warfordsburg; Bessie Shillings of Hagerstown, Violet Harris of Hancock; and 
Mary Dickens of Clearville; two brothers: John Keefer of Mercersburg, and  
Merle Keefer of Berkeley Spring, WV; 10 grandchildren; on great-grandchild; 
nine step-grandchildren; and five step-great grandchildren.
	Services will be held Wednesday, April 16, 1997, at 1:00 p.m. in the 
chapel of  Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Springs Rd., 
Chambersburg, with Rev. Pastor James Dodge officiating.  Burial will be made in 
Air Hill Cemetery, Chambersburg.  Military graveside services will be conducted 
by Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW.
	Memorial donations may be made to Pinnacle Health Hospice, 3705 Elmwood 
Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17110.



Bard - Gertrude (Tadejeske), 57, 515 Franklin Ave. Vandergrift, formerly of 
Johnstown, died Nov. 10, 1968.  Born Feb.18, 191, in Johnstown, daughter of 
John W. and Martha (Archie) Tadejeske. Survived by husband, Halcom P., and two 
sons, Halcom Barre, married to Janet Lukowsky, Kane; and Daniel Joseph, at 
home.  Sister of Albert B., Tedley ad Miss Anna Tedley, both of 1137 Ridge Ave. 
John Tade, Menoher Heights.  Chaplin of auxiliary to Lodge 36, BPOE, Apollo.  
Member of St. Gertrude's Rosary Society.  Friends will be received from 7 to 9 
p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Stephen J. Conway Funeral 
Home, where auxiliary to Lodge 175, BPOE, will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday.  Sung 
Mass of Requiem at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.  
Internment in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
