	Nina Evelyn Hess, 81, St. Thomas died at 1: PM, Monday February 12, 
1990 in the Extended Care facility of the Fulton County Medical Center in 
McConnellsburg, where she has lived for five years.
	Born June 28, 1908 in Potter County, she was the daughter of the late 
Ross A. and Alberta Mellott Bard.
	She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Nazarene Church, Harrisonville.
	She was a seamstress at J. Schoeneman Co., Chambersburg, for 15 years.
	She married Jobe Hess on April 10, 1926.  He preceded her in death 
January 4, 1988.
	Surviving are three daughters:  Maxine (Mrs. Willie Mellott) of 
McConnellsburg, Velva (Mrs. William) Warsing of Allentown and Kuetta (Mrs. 
Carl, Sr.) Walls of St. Thomas; a son, Herbert of Chambersburg; 16 
grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and a sister, Marjorie Stepler of St. 
Thomas.
	A son and three brothers preceded her in death.
	Services were held at 2: PM Friday, February 16 in the Pleasant Ridge 
Nazarene Church.  The Rev. Richard Vandervoit officiated.   Burial was made in 
the church cemetery.
	The Howard Sipes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
