Walter R. Bard

	Walter Raymond Bard, Jr., 67, McConnellsburg, died Sunday, March 22, 
1998 at 10:00 a.m. at the Dept. of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Washington, 
D.C.
	Born September 1, 1930 in McConnellsburg, he was the son of the late 
Walter R. Bard, Sr. and Amy M. Sipes Bard.
	He was a Protestant.
	He was a life-time member of the VFW post 655 and American Legion Post 
561 and Fulton County Overseas Veterans Assoc., all of McConnellsburg.
	He was a member of the Disabled Veterans of Chambersburg and had worked 
at Letterkenny, JLG and was a self -employed auto body technician.  He served 
in the Korean Conflict with the 3rd Armored Division.
	Surviving are his wife, Faye McQuade Bard, whom he married May 10, 
1952; a daughter: Vickie Seville, McConnellsburg; two sons: Dennis L. Bard and 
Douglas L. Bard, both of Greencastle; six grandchildren; two step-
grandchildren; a sister: Lucille Bard Knoll, Chambersburg; a brother, Kenneth 
G. Bard, Sr., Chambersburg.
	He was preceded in death by a brother Kermit L. Bard and a great-
granddaughter, Rachel M. Banks.
	Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 26 at 2:00 p.m. at the 
Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., Harrisonville.  Rev. David Carroll will 
officiate. Burial will be made in Pleasant Ridge Church of the Nazarene 
Cemetery, Harrisonville.
	Visitation will be Wednesday, March 25 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
	Full military services will be conducted by the Fulton County Honor 
Guard.
