Fulton County Historical Society Card File
Bard
____

Mrs. Rose M. Bard, in the thirty-first year of her life, with of John
W. Bard of Emmaville, Brush Creek township, died of typhoid fever last Saturday
morning and was buried Sunday at the Sidling Hill Baptist church in Belfast
township.
Mrs. Bard was a daughter of H. H. and Rhoda Deshong, and she and Mr.
Bard were married September 22, 1910. It will be recalled that a notice of the
death of Mrs. Deshong, from typhoid fever appeared in last week's Democrat.
When fever broke out in the home of her parents near Sipes Mill in Belfast
township, she left her home at Emmaville and went to that of her parents to
assist in nursing the afflicted family and contracted the disease. During the
course of the development of the disease she was removed to her home where she
died, as above stated. Thus has a mother and a daughter in the space of two
short weeks been called from their perspective home circles leaving them
shadowed by sorrow.
Besides the grief stricken husband the deceased is survived by two
small children.
