Bard

	Michael E. H. Bard, a well known citizen of Belfast township died at 
the old home place near Pleasant Ridge, Monday, April 29, 1929, form a attack 
of the grip and infirmities of old age.  He was a son of Charles and Susan 
(Lehman) Bard and was born on July 21, 1844, being aged 84years, 9 months and 8 
days.
	Mr. Bard was united in marriage to Margaret Truax, December 25, 1867 
and the this union 13 children were born, seven of which survive, as follows:  
Charles, Henry and Mrs. Anna Kelso, of Knobsville;	 George A. of 
Pittsburgh; John of Rochester, N.Y.; Ross of Mercersburg; Newton J. of 
McConnellsburg; Sherman, Mrs. Martha Spade and Jessie, wife of Levi Mellott of 
near Sipes Mill; and Oliver, at home.  He is also survived by  ? grandchildren 
and 34 great grandchildren.
	Mr. Bard was the oldest of the children, the other brothers and sisters 
having preceding  him to the great beyond.  His father Charles Bard was born in 
Germany.  He was a good Christian man and one who was much sought after as a 
councilor and advisor.  For more that 60 years he was a active member of the 
Ebenezer M. E. Church.  He leaves to mourn his loss a host of sorrowing friend 
and relatives.
	Funeral services were held, Wednesday, at 2: PM, at the Ebenezer M. E. 
Church  in Charges of ? Rev. E. J. Croft of the M. E. Church of Fort Loudon.
