The Grim Reaper's work in Our Community and Elsewhere.

Bard

	At his home near Pleasant Ridge, Tuesday, June 2, 1925, Mr. John Bard, 
one of our most widely known and respected men, passed to eternity, the result 
of a paralytic stroke, Sunday.
	Mr. Bard was born November 19, 1845, hence was aged 79 years, 6 months 
and 14 days.  His wife, who was Miss Phoebe Mellott, died January 10, 1904.
	He leaves to mourn the sad loss of a loved and loving Christian father, 
seven children, sons are: Erastus, Pleasant Ridge; Webster, Johnstown; and 
Virgil on the home place, with whom his father resided.  Daughters are: Louise 
(Mrs. James McIlnay), Yellow Creek, Bedford Co.; Laura (Mrs. Harry McIlnay, 
Yellow Creek; Stella (Mrs. C. E. Coleman, Columbus, OH. and Ida married and 
living in Australia.  Twenty-five grandchildren and six great grandchildren 
also survive him.
	The bereaved has the sympathy of all in this sad hour.
	He united with the Pleasant Ridge Brethren Church over fifty years ago 
and was one of its most valued and consisted members. Having served as deacon 
for many years.  His was one of the most lovable characters and life.  He will 
be missed.
	Funeral Thursday 10: AM at Pleasant Ridge Brethren Church BY Rev, J. C. 
Garland, Rev. John Mellott, Rev. Isaiah Mellott and ev. C. S. Funk.  Internment 
in the adjoining cemetery.  He now rests safely on the Shining Shore, reunited 
with the love and partner of his early youth and life, to wait for the others 
loved ones.
Farewell, farewell, father dear,
Of earth no more a part,
But Oh, we sadly sorrow he,
And miss thy faithful heart.
