Will of E. Collin Woodruff
Cumberland County (New Jersey) Wills #4780F

Proved April 20, 1888 and recorded in the Surrogat's office of Cumberland
County in Book 1 of Wills, pg. 91&c


I, E. Collin Woodruff, of the city of Bridgeton, county of Cumberland, and state of New Jersey,
being of sound and disposing mind, memory, and understanding, do make and publish this my last
will and testament in the manner following, to wit:

First -- I direct all my just debts and funeral expenses to be paid as soon as conveniently can
be done after my decease.

Second -- I give and bequeath to my daughter, Lucy Woodruff, one thousand dollars in cash
together with the shares of stock of the Bridgeton Gas Light Company which I now own.

Third -- I give and bequeath to my son, Robert M. Woodruff, one hundred dollars in cash.

Fourth -- I give and bequeath to my dughter, Anna S. Ware, wife of Harry C. Ware, one hundred
dollars in cash.

Fifth -- I give and bequeath to my wife, Ruth S. Woodruff, such articles of household furniture
as she may desire.

Sixth -- I give and devise unto my said wife, Ruth S. Woodruff, all of the residue of my
estate, both real and personal, for and during her natural ife and after her death I give and
devise the one half part thereof to my said daughter, Lucy Woodruff, her heirs and assigns, and
the remaining one half part thereof to my two children, Robert M. Woodruff and Anna S. Ware,
wife of Harry C. Ware, aforesaid, their heirs and assigns to be divided between them in such
portions as my said wife shall by will direct, and if my said wife make no such direction then
said last named one half part to be divided between the said Robert and Anna in the following
proportions:  three fourths thereof to the said Robert and one fourth thereof to said Anna.

Seventh -- I do hereby authorize and impower my said wife, Ruth S. Woodruff, either as residing
legatee and devisee as aforesaid or as executrix hereof, if she shall deem it advisable at any
time after my decease, to sell and dispose of any portion or all of my real estate, the
proceeds of such sales to be held and enjoyed by her for and during her natural life and
disposed of after her death as the residue of my estate is directed bo be disposed of in
paragraph sixth preceding.

Eighth  -- I do hereby constitute and appoint my said wife, Ruth S. Woodruff, executrix of this
my last will and testament.

In Witness Whereof, -- I, the said E. Collin Woodruff, have hereunto set my hand and seal this
twenty first day of April, A. D. eighteen hundred and eighty six.

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the above named E. Collin Woodruff to be his last will and testament, in the presence of us, who were present at the same time, and subscribed our names as witnesses in the presence of the testator and of each other.
