RITES HELD FOR TOM JORDAN
Funeral services were held at Hopewell Methodist church Thursday morning at 10 
o'clock for Tom W. Jordan, 46, who died at Americus early Tuesday of a head 
injury.  Mr. Jordan saw service in France during the world war.  The Rev. 
Joseph S. Cook and the Rev. O.L. Evans of Americus officiated at the funeral, 
and burial was in the church cemetery.  A native of Schley county, Mr. Jordan 
had lived in Sumter county for about 20 years.  He was a member of the 
Methodist church.  Survivors include his widow, the former Miss Fannie 
Patrick; his father Mr. Jim R. Jordan, Schley county; a son, Tommy Jordan; 
three sisters, Mrs. R.M. McMickle, Fitzgerald; Mrs. B.L. Snyder, Columbus, and 
Miss Viola Phelps, Lansing Mich.; three brothers, C.T. Jordan, Schley county; 
W.M. Jordan, Sumter county, and J.G. Jordan, Fort Valley.  Pallbearers were 
D.A. Snipes, Will Sellars, Welton Wall, Sim Kitchens, Ernest Chappell and Roy 
Parker.
