EMMA GENE EASTERLIN

Mrs. Emma Gene Easterlin, age 95, of 2001 South Lee Street, Americus, GA, died 
Sunday, February 24, 2008 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Ga.  
Graves side services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2008 in the 
Ellaville City Cemetery.  Rev. Earl Dunmon officiated.

Mrs. Easterlin was born January 11, 1913 in Schley County, Georgia, the 
daughter of Cullen Lazarus battle and Josephine Dixon Battle.  She was one of 
eight children.  Mrs. Easterlin was postmaster for 33 years in Andersonville.  
She was a member of Andersonville Baptist Church and of the Andersonville 
Guild.  Mrs. Easterlin was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Mr. 
William Lynn Easterlin, Sr. and a son Paul Cullen Easterlin.

Survivors include one son, William Lynn Easterlin and his wife, Linda Downs 
Easterlin of Atlanta, GA; one brother, S.T. "Buddy" Battle and his wife Ann 
Battle of Decatur, GA.  Grandchildren, Edward and Nan Easterlin of Atlanta, 
GA, Nancy Easterlin Smith of Atlanta, GA, Lynn and Nancy Easterlin od 
Savannah, GA, Liz and Ken Daniel of Americus, GA and Cullen Easterlin of 
Americus, GA.  Mrs. Easterlin is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, 
Mallie Easterlin, Clara Easterlin, Ward Easterlin, Emma Smith, Sally Smith, 
Jessica Easterlin, and Dillon Easterlin.  Several nieces and nephews also 
survive.  

Active pallbearers were Ed Easterlin, Lynn Easterlin, Cullen Easterlin, Ken 
Daniel, Roy Wise, Lee Steed, Joseph Logan, Charles Battle and Dixon Battle.

Watson-Giddens Funeral Home of Ellaville, GA was in charge of arrangements.
