OLIN L. DIXON DIES SATURDAY
Funeral services for Olin Lamar Dixon, 73, a native of Schley county who died 
Friday night at an Americus hospital, were conducted from the residence in 
Americus Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock.  he had been ill only a short time.

Born in Schley county in 1886, Mr. Dixon married Miss Florence Page on April 
5, 1905.  Residing in Americus for the past 55 years, he owned and operated 
for many years the O.L. Dixon furniture store on the site now occupied by 
McLellan's Store.  Later he became a farmer.

Survivors, beside his widow, include two daughters, Mrs. Clyde Moore, of 
Kingston, N.C., and Mrs. Clarence Lott, of Decatur, Ga.; two sons, O.L. Dixon, 
Jr., of Miami, and Walter Page Dixon of Americus; three nieces, Mrs. C.H. Burt 
of LaCross, Mrs. C.L. Battle and Mrs. W.H. Hogg, both of Ellaville, and two 
nephews, H.F. and Eugene Dixon, both of Ellaville.

The Rev. John R. Joyner officiated at the funeral and burial was in Oak Grove 
cemetery at Americus.

Pallbearers were H.F. Dixon, Eugene Dixon, James Collins, Hugh Page, James 
Todd and O.B. Biggers.
