CHAMBLISS.--Virgil Homer Chambliss was born in May, 1868, united with Shiloh 
church in 1890, ordained deacon in 1895, served the church as clerk, treasurer, 
teacher and superintendent of Sunday-school, departed this life February 21, 
1906.

Whereas, Our heavenly Father has seen to remove our brother from his wonted 
sphere of service here, to a higher and better sphere; and

Whereas, Our brother, by his life and labors, had completely won our confidence 
and love, so that we consider his removal a great loss to the church and to the 
cause of Christ generally; therefore be it

Resolved, That while we can not fathom the mysterious providence of God in thus 
dealing with us, yet we humbly submit, knowing that "He doeth all things well."

Resolved, further, That we extend to the family of our brother our most 
profound sympathy in their great bereavement, assuring them of our prayers in 
their behalf, that He who has promised to be a husband to the widow and a 
father to the fatherless" may ever sustain and bless them.

Resolved, further, That a copy of these resolutions be furnished the family of 
our brother a copy be inscribed in the minutes of the church, and a copy be 
published in the Christian Index.
