In the name of God Amen the Seventeenth
Day of July One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Seven
I William Baskett of the County of Orange in the Province of
North Carolina, being very sick and weak of Body but of
Perfect mind and memory, thanks be given to God for it. ~~~
Therefore Calling to mind the mortality of my Body and ~~~
Knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die
do make and Ordain this my last will and Testament ~~~
that is to say Principly[sic] and first I recommend my soul into
the hands of God that gave it and my Body I recommend ~~
to the Earth to be Buried in a Christian like and decent ~~
Manner, at the Discretion of my Executor nothing doubting
but at the General Resur[r]ection I shall receive the same again
by the mighty Power of God and as touching such
Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me
with in this life I give Demise and Bequeath of the ~~~
Same in the following manner and form first all that

all my Lawful Debts and Funeral Charges be paid. ~~~~~~

Imprimis Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Dearly and
well beloved wife Ruth Baskett all the land goods and Chattles
during her widowhood to raise my Children on and after her
Marri[i]age for my Personal Estate to be sold and the money equally
Divided amongst my three Daughter Mary Elizabeth and Ruth
as they Marry or ar[r]ive to the Age of twenty one Years ~~~~
and my Land I give and Bequeath to my sons Thomas and
William to be Divided between them as follows for Thomas that
part of my land that lyes on the north side of my Spring branch
with the Plantation and for William that part that [lies] on the  South
Side of the Spring branch the Dividing line between them is such
to run a South line from the Spring to my south Corner on the
Creek and along my spring branch to the River, and I likewise
Constitute and Appoint my trusty and Beloved Friends William
White and John Baskett Executors of this my last will and
Testament Revoking and disanuling all other Wills Testa-
=ments Bequeathments by my anyways heretofore made ~~
Rectifying[?] and Confirming this and not other to be my last
Will and Testament in Witness whereof I have set my hand
and Seal the Day and Year above mentioned
