William Brewer's will dated 1 December 1875--recorded Orange County 
North Carolina Will Book H (1869-1876) pg 128 & 129:

The last will and testament of William Brewer of Orange County North
Carolina:  I William Brewer considering the uncertainty of this man at
life and being of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last
will and testament in manner and form following: That is to say I give
and bequeath to my beloved wife Sarah Brewer all my house hold and
kitchen furniture Also my present growing crop after all my just debts
shall have ben paid by my executor herein after named Also all my live
stock except one steer which is to be sold to help pay my just debts
Also one wagon and all my farming utensil     I give and bequeath to my
son Stephen W Brewer a certain peace of land : the the line__run as
follows commencing in George Andrews line where the path leading to
Duncan King,(crossing ?) said George Andrews line then running nearly
east with said path toa mulberry tree near the branch and nearly west
from my dwelling and some two hundred yards from it and thence up said
branch nearly north to Meredith E Brewer ceceased line to his own line
all my land contained in this boundry he is to hold and hold during his
natural life and at his death it is be equally divided between his
children.
     I give and bequeath to my son Manley Brewer all the remainder of my
land during his natural life and at his death it is to be givento his
daughter or equally divided between his children if any.  I also give
and bequeath to my grandchildren heirs of E Meredith Brewer deceased the
sum of five dollars be equally divided between them. I also give and
bequeath to my granddaughter Mary J Brewer daughter of Alvis G Brewer
deceased the sum of five dollars.  
     It is my will that my beloved wife Sarah Brewer by supported from
my farm which I have given to my son Manley  Brewer at my death. It isa
further in my will that he Manley M Brewer is to attend to the running
of my farm that my wife Sarah Brewer may receive her support from said
farm. 
     Last I do nominate and appoint my said son Manley Brewer to be the
executor of this my last will and testament. 
     In testimomy whereof I the said William Brewer have to this my last
will and testament subscribe my name and affixed my seal this 24 day of
April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy
five.

Witnessed by S J Lloyd and H C Andrews of Orange County North Carolina
 
Wheresaid William Brewer of Orange County North Carolina have made my
last will and testament in writing bearing date one thousand eight
hundred and seventy five no now I do by this my writing which I hereby
declare to be a (-?-) to my said will to be taken as a part thereof!  I
do hereby acknowledge that I justly owe my son Manley M Brewer the sum
of two hundred dollars and I hereby declare that I have given him that
advantage in land which claim I hereby declare to be null and void. 
    In testimony whereof I the said William Brewer have herewith
subscribed my name and affixed my seal this 24 day of April one thousand
eight hundred and seventy five.

The above instrument was now here subscribed by William Brewer the
testator in the presence of each of us and was at the same time declared
by him to be a (Cardiat ?) to my last will and testament and we at his
