     Be it remembered that a paper writing purporting to be the last 
will & testament of Rebecca Bacon is exhibited in open court by James W. 
Bacon the Executor named therein and being proven by the oath and 
examination of A.L. Holden and O.K. Lockhart the subscribing witnesses 
thereto.
     It is now adjudged that said paper writing and every part thereof 
is the last will and testament of the said Rebecca Bacon and as such is 
ordered to be ?

    I Rebecca Bacon of the County of Orange and State of North Carolina
being of sound mind and memory and knowing the certainty of death and 
the uncertainty of life, do make and declare this my last will and 
testament in manner and form as follows that is to say
Item, I give and bequeath to my son Wm H. Bacon all that parcel of land
lying and being on the west side of the ridge road and bounded as 
follows, beginning at A.L. Holden's & Rebecca Bacon' corner on Wm H 
Bacon' line, thence East with A.L. Holden' line to said Ridge Road, 
thence South with the ?        of said Road to W.H. Bacon' line thence 
North said line to the beginning containing five acres more or less.
Item, I give and bequeath to my daughters Johanna Bacon and Ellen L. 
Bacon the remainder of my homeplace, that is to say - after deducting 
the five acres already given to my son Wm H Bacon,
Item, I give and bequeath to my daughter Rebecca F. Wilson and Martha S.
Dollar the sum of Twenty five dollars each.
Item, I give and bequeath to my son James W Bacon the sum of fifty cents.
Item I give and bequeath to my daughters Johanna Bacon and Ellen L. 
Bacon all of my personal property not otherwise devised.
Item, I do hereby declare, appoint and empower James W Bacon my Executor
to this my last will and testament in testimony whereof I hereunto set
my hand and seal this  ?   day of June 1886
