In the Name of God Amen.  The twenty ninth day of April in the year of our Lord 
one thousand Eight Hundred I George Rinehard of Frederick County and State of 
Maryland being very Sick and Weak of Body but of perfect mind and memory thanks 
be Given unto God therefore calling to mind the mortality of my Body and knowing 
that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last 
will and Testament that is to say Principally and first of all I Give and 
recommend my Soul into the hand of God that gave it and for my Body I recommend 
it to the Earth to be Buried in a Christian like and decent manner at the 
Discretion of my Executors nothing doubting but the General Resurrection I shall 
receive the same by the mighty favor of god and a Touching such worldly Estate 
wherewith it hath pleased God to Bless me in this life I give devise and Dispose 
of the same in the following manner and form.  Imprimis It is my will and I do 
order that in the first place all my Just Debts and funeral charges be paid and 
Satisfied.
I Give and Bequeath unto my well beloved wife Magdalena all my Estate both Real 
and Personal during her life or as long as she lives my widow, but if she should 
marry then she shall have one Hundred Acres of Land being the Hundred Acres that 
I bought of my sisters where my mother lived on my said wife is to have the old 
house and Gartain (sic) and two milk Cows and Ten Apple Trees for her use during 
her natural life but if she dies the said Hundred Acres of Land is to be Divided 
amongst my five Children George, Barbara, Mary, Elisabeth and Salome but if my 
said wife should not marry again She is to live with her son George in the Brick 
House and she is to Have one Room and Kitchen and Iine the Black Girl for her 
mad (sic) after my Wifes Decease the black Girl named Iine shall belong to my 
son George and to his heirs forever by my said son George is to give to my said 
Wife Twelve Bushels of wheat and three Bushels of Rye Yearly and keep her two 
Cows and to feed them of his own feed with hay and Hopp and to give her yearly 
one hundred Pounds of Good fat pork and that she is to have as long as she lives 
my widow.  I give and bequeath to my son George Rinehart Two Hundred and fifty 
seven Acres of Land part of Phillipsbough and Chestnut Ridge the Whole Survey 
and part of Owings Trust Containing ten Acres of Land my son said son is to have 
an Waggon (sic) and two Horses and Gears and Plow and the Clock that I have in 
my house and my said son George is not to have the above legacy until he arrives 
to the Age of Twenty one Years then he is to have it for him and his heirs 
forever but if my son George should Die without heirs then the above legacy 
shall fall to his sisters Barbara, Mary, Elisabeth and Salome and their heirs.  
I give and Bequeath to my Daughter Barbara the Elder one Hundred and Eleven 
Acres of Land that place which I Bought of Samuel Chadd and she is to have one 
hundred and thirty nine Acres of Land which I bought of Bruce adjoining said 
Chadds land the said two hundred and fifty Acres of land to my said Daughter 
Barbara and her heirs forever but if my Daughter Barbara should die without 
heirs her legacy shall fall back to her Brother George and Sisters Mary, 
Elisabeth and Salome.  And I Give and bequeath to my Daughter Mary the Old place 
that on Pipe Creek and to my Daughter Elisabeth that place that I bought of 
Leonard Hump them two Daughters is to have three Hundred and thirteen acres of 
Land them two places must be divided by two men that such of them two Daughters 
Mary and Elisabeth got meadow ground and of land each alike value to my said 
Daughters Mary and Elisabeth to them their heirs forever after they arrive at 
the age of Twenty one Years but if my daughters Mary and Elisabeth should die 
without heirs their legacy shall fall back to their brother and sisters before 
mentioned.  I Give and bequeath to my Daughter Salome Two Hundred Acres of Land 
more or less with a Straight line as the Devition fence now Devites my home 
place and the place which I bought of John Shaull it being the place which I 
bought of John Shaull to her and her heirs forever and she shall have the above 
legacy as soon as she comes to the Age of Twenty one years but if my Daughter 
Salome should die without heirs her legacy shall fall back to her brother and 
sisters as above mentioned.  And it is my will and do ordain that the Rest of my 
Estate Real and personnel not heretofore mentioned be Equally Divided amongst my 
son and four Daughters above mentioned.  And I constitute make and Ordain my 
well beloved Wife Magdalena and Henry Mathias my only and Sole Executors of this 
my Last will and Testament and I do Utterly Disallow revoke and disannul all and 
every other former Testament wills legacies and Executors by me in anywise 
before this time made named willed and Bequeathed Rattifying and confirming this 
and no Other to be my last will and Testament.  In witness whereof I have here 
unto set my hand and seal the day and the year above Written.
Signed Sealed Published pronounced and Declared by the said Valentine Rinehart 
as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us the Subscribers.

Frederick County, December 13th  1800 There came Magdelena Rinehart and Henry 
Mathias made oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God that the aforegoing 
Instrument of writing is the True and whole will and Testament of George 
Rinehart late of Frederick County Deceased that hath come to their hands and 
possession and that they do not know of any other.

Frederick County, December 13th 1800 There came Henry Lippie and John Lindeman 
two of the Subscribing Witnesses to the aforegoing Last Will and Testament of 
George Rinehart late of Frederick County Deceased and made oath on the Holy 
Evangels of Almighty God that they did see the Testator therein named Sign and 
seal this will that they heard him Publish Pronounce and Declare the same to be 
his last Will and Testament that at the time of his so doing he was to the best 
of their Apprehensions of a Sound and Disposing mind memory and understanding 
that they respectively Subscribed their names as Witnesses to this Will in the 
Presence and at the request of the Testator And that they did Also see John 
Bower the other Subscribing Witness Sign his name as a Witness to said Will in 
the Presence and at the request of the Testator and all in the Presence of each 
Other.
