Abstracted. If you know these people please contact me. Hockstadt and Gotham are 
adjoining pieces north of Bachman Mills, just about at the York Manheim Tp 
border. Note that it appears John Foltz the grandson is the illegitimate son of 
John Foltz Sr's daughter Anna Maria, now married to Michael Wilson.

April 1837: In the name of God Amen. I John Foltz of Carroll County in the State 
of Maryland do therefore make and publish this my last Will and testament in 
manner and form following that is to say -

I desire that my Executors hereinafter named to sell either at public or private 
sale all my Interest in to all them Two pieces of parcels of land called 
Hockstadt containing one hundred and thirty six and a half acre, and also the 
piece of parcel of land called Gotham containing fifty seven and a half acres of 
land, being the land whereon I now am dwelling lying in Carroll county and also 
all my real and personal estate be it where it may and of what nature or kind to 
be and remain in the possession of my beloved wife Ann Mary Foltz to use and 
occupy during her natural life or so long as she shall remain my widow, and 
after the death of my beloved wife Ann Mary or after her marriage, all my real 
and personal Estate to be sold by my Executor - the property so sold shall be by 
my Executor distributed in the manner and form following -

I desire that my Executor pay out of the money that shall arise out and from the 
sale aforesaid unto my daughter Sarah lawfully allied to Michael D. G. Pfeiffer 
the one third part of the money and should there be an account produced by the 
said Michael D. G. Pfeiffer against the Estate or against any of my Executors 
for any charge for Medicin it is my desire that my Executors thereinafter named 
only to pay unto my daughter Sarah five dollars out of the money as aforesaid.

I desire that my Executors hereinafter named to pay unto my daughter Ann Mary 
lawfully allied to Michael Wilson the one third part of the money arising out 
and from the property as aforesaid to be sold, and if an account will be brought 
by the aforesaid Anne Mary or by her husband Michael Wilson five dollars shall 
be paid to them.

I desire that my Executors hereinafter named to pay unto my Grandson by the name 
of John Foltz the son of my daughter Ann Mary now lawfully allied to Michael 
Wilson aforesaid the one third part of the money that shall arise out and from 
all my real and personal Estate.And Lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint 
Phillip Gore and John Foltz the son of my daughter Ann Mary lawfully allied to 
Michael Wilson aforesaid to be Executor of this my Last Will and Testament - in 
Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this eighth 
day of April 1837. John Foltz. Signed ... in the presence of us who at his 
request in the presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our 
names as witnesses thereto - Jacob Gitt; George Weaver, of H; James Marshall 
Maryland, Carroll County, to Wit: On the 6th day of November 1837 came Ann Mary 
Foltz and made oath on the Holy Evange? of Almighty God that the foregoing 
Instrument of writing is the true whole last will and testament of John Foltz 
late of Carroll County deceased that hath come to her hand and profession that 
she received the same from George Weaver of H, with whome the same had been
