CAVALRY REUNION

The great cavalry re-union held in New Orleans on the 13th of February,
1888, crystallized into a permanent Association for social, moral and
historical purposes, which organization has since been engaged in the
preserving and supplying missing records and incidents of the war, and in the
erection of a suitable monument to the memory of our cavalry heroes, living
and dead.
At a recent meeting of the association it was determined to have another re-
union, to take place in New Orleans on Monday next, March 4th, which promises
now to be grander than that of last year.
Capt. W.T. Ratliff, of Raymond, who commanded a battery under the late
Gen. Wirt Adams, has been specially invited to participate in the ceremonies,
and will likely do so. Others there are in Hinds County who shed glory on the
cause they espoused. These should attend also, and help make the occasion not
only a grand but memorable one.
