Hinds County Gazette November 1903

DEATH OF CAPT. ADAMS

Capt. T.J. Adams, a well
 known citizen of Raymond, died
at Memphis Tenn., where he had
gone for medical treatment, last
Sunday. Capt. Adams came to
Raymond in 1883 from Warren
county, his first visit to the town
being while he was engaged in
surveying for the Natchez,
Jackson & Columbus Railroad
which was then in course of
construction. He was one of
the best surveyors that ever
lived in the county. He was
elected county surveyor at the
recent election without opposition.
 He had many friends in
this community who regret to
hear of his death. The remains
arrived from Memphis Tuesday
morning and were intered in the
cemetery at Raymond, with
Masonic honors. The deceased leaves
three children; Mrs. J.B. Bogle
of Raymond, Mrs. Cole of Warren
county and John Adams, Esq.,
of Memphis.
