West-Jersey Pioneer. (Bridgeton, N.J.) 1851-1884: April 10, 1858 April 1858
On Thursday afternoon of last week, as Mr. Charles Eldridge, residing near Davis'
Mill, in this County, was burning brush in a field about thirty rods from his
dwelling, a little girl of his, three or four years old, in company with her brother
aged about six years, went where the brush was burning while the father was out of
sight, the dress of the little girl took fire and before the alarm could be given,
she was burned in a most shocking manner, causing her death in a few hours.
