Died of Consumption, on March the 28, Miss Ruth Matilda, daughter of Esli and
Matilda Bateman, aged 22 years, 7 months, and 22 days The evening before her death,
she manifested a desire to die before morning; and when told that she was dying, she
called her parents, brothers, and sisters to her bedside, and bid them farewell, and
met death with composure. During the last few years previous to her sickness, she
lived with several different families in Cedarville, and also in Bridgeton, who now
feel to mourn and sympathize with her relatives.
Her funeral was attended in the Baptist Church on Tuesday the 30th inst., and a
large number were present to witness to the solemnity of the occasion.
