Pension Application
   Jan. 27, 1921: Henry A. Reynolds, aged 73, of Scio, Allegany Co., N.Y.  
Enlisted Sept. 1864 s a Pvt. in Co. I, 189th Regt. NY Vol.; discharged at 
Elmira, N.Y. May 30, 1865.  Description at enlistment: 5'11", fair complexion, 
blue eyes, brown hair.  Farmer.  Born Mar. 27, 1847 (sic) at West Almond, N.Y.  
Requires regular personal aid and attendance of another person on account of 
bad heart, rheumatism, rupture.  Left arm & legs - not much use of, they are 
numb most of the time.  Since leaving the service he has resided at Ward, N.Y. 
and Scio, N.Y.  His occupation has been day laborer when able.  Pensioner under 
certificate #535774.  Witnesses: Elma Smith & G.H. Robinson of Scio.
   Enlistment paper: enlisted at Hornellsville, Sept. 19, 1864.  Aged 19.
   Questionnaire Jan. 4, 1916: Born West Almond, Allegany Co., N.Y. March 27, 
1846 (sic).  Post office at enlistment: Hornellsville, N.Y.  Wife: Amanda C.
(Tucker) Reynolds.  Married at Hornellsville Feb. 23, 1869 by Joel Hendrick, 
Clergyman.  Record of marriage: certificate.  Neither party was previously 
married.  Now living together.  All children, living or dead:
       Two children only, born Ward, Allegany Co., N.Y.
          Mary Agnes - b. Sept. 16, 1871
          Martha Victoria - b. Aug. 19, 1876
   Oct. 4, 1922: Mrs. Martha V. Brook applied for reimbursement of expenses of 
last sickness and  funeral of Henry A. Reynolds.  Pension was last paid to July 
14, 1922.  Soldier pensioned as an invalid soldier.  He was married once, to 
Amanda C. Tucker, who died Mar. 16, 1917.  He was never divorced, had no 
children under the age of 16.  He had no life insurance.  Pensioner died Sept. 
1, 1922.  Jesse & Lorena Sheldon of Scio, near neighbors of four years, 
testified.  Nature of disease from which pensioner died: chronic cardiac 
valvular disease, chronic articular rheumatism.  Name of each person who 
rendered services as nurse: E.T. Blark, Scio.  Pensioner has had practically a
