Lancaster daily intelligencer. (Lancaster, Pa.) 1864-1928: December 03, 1880
On Wednesday at noon Edward Iungerich Smith was married to Mary Eleanor, daughter of
Thomas J. Diehl, at the residence of the latter on Walnut street above Nineteenth,
Philadelphia. Both families are well known in Lancaster, and Miss Blanche Franklin,
of this city, a relative of the bride, served as bridesmaid on the occasion. Mr.
Smith is the grandson of Mr. Iungerich, who many years ago was a resident of this
city, whence he removed to Philadelphia to engage in the wholesale grocery business,
in which he amassed a large fortune, in connection with his son-in-law Mr. Smith;
the firm finally going into business as bankers and brokers.
