Record of the last Will and Testament of Pamelia Haskin
 
In the name of God Amen: I Pamelia Haskin in the town of Independance in the
County of Allegany and State of New York; Being of sound mind and memory, and
considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life, do therefore
make , ordain, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament.  And
first I direct that my body be decently interred in the Burying Ground at
Spring Mills Allegany Co. N.Y. according to the rites and ceremonies of the
Baptist Church. And that my funeral be conducted in a manner corresponding
with my estate and situation in life; and as to such worldly estate as it hath
pleased God to intrust me with, I dispose of the same as follows:
 
First I direct that my debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon after my
decease as possible out of the first moneys that shall come into the hands of
the Executors, from my portion of my estate real or personal.
 
Second I direct to be paid by my executors to William Carter(?) of the city of
New York; the amound of principal and interest due him from M. J. N. Haskin
(deceased) my late husband.  Second; I direct that the rest and residue of
said estate real and personal (excepting my household goods, wearing apparel
and library) be divided pro rata by my said executors among the rest of the
lawful creditors of my Husband (deceased).  Should by said estate above
mentioned exceed the indebtedness of my said husband (deceased) then and in
that case I direct that the residue of my real and personal estate, together
with my household furniture, wearing apparel and library be equally divided
between Henry Thornton my brother; George Thornton my nephew; and Jane
Crandall my sister-in-law. Shar and share alike; in witness whereof I have
hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal, the twenty eighth day of
August A.D. 1807

The above written instrument was subscribed by the said Pamelia Haskin in our
presence and acknowledged by her to each of us; and she at the same time
published and declared the above instrument subscribed to be the last will and
testament; and we at the Testatrix's request and in her presence have signed
our names as witnesses thereto and written opposite our names our respective
places of residence.
