David C. Evans

David C. EVANS a lifelong resident of Angelica, died Friday afternoon, May 1,
1959, after a long illness. He had been confined to his bed for the past two
years in a rest home at Rushford. Mr. Evans was born at Angelica on March 19,
1875, the eldest son of Daniel and Emma WAFLER Evans. During his early life he
taught a few years in country school, after which he took a business course at
Oberlin Business College, Oberlin, Ohio. In February, 1901, Mr. Evans was
married to Miss Cornelia SCHOLES and they made their first home on a farm on
the Birdsall road.  Later, they moved to the Scholes on the West Almond road,
which is no owned by William LINK.  On retirement in 1945, Mr. and Mrs. Evans
moved to the Village of Angelica, where he remained until the death of his
wife in January, 1952. Mr. Evans became a member of the Methodist Church when
a boy and was always a regular attendant.  He had held the offices of Official
Board Member, Benevolent Treasurer and Superintendent of the Sunday School.
Survivors are one son, Merle Evans of Redlands, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs.
Donna MOORE of Arlington, Calif.; two granddaughters, Sandra and Geraldine
Evans; one grandson, David Moore; two brothers, Harvey Evans of North Collins
and Clair Evans of Angelica, and one sister, Miss Nora Evans of Angelica.
Services, conducted by the Rev. Ray Hazlett, pastor of the Methodist
Church of Angelica, were held Tuesday afternoon in the Wolcott Funeral Home,
Angelica. Interment was in "Until the Day Dawn" Cemetery, Angelica.
