TEATER, John M. Town of Independence, left will.  Debts to be collected and
paid.  Executors to distribute real and personal property.  Farm property
to be kept and managed by executors and guardians for use of children,
their support and education until sons are 21 and daughter age 21 or
married.  Wife Lydia to be supported from profits of land and have use of
personal property in lieu of dower.  My wife and children to live together.
To youngest son, John R. Teater, 35 acres of farm adjoining Samuel WHITE.
To son Horace K. Teater, 1/4 of home farm next to John, being 35 acres.  To
son William 35 acres next to Horace and also west half of 50 acres next to
home farm.  Son William to pay daughter Lydia M. $100 when she is 21 or
married.  To son Peter M. Teater 1/4 of home farm (site described) and 60
acres (located).  Son Peter to pay daughter $100.  Daughter Lydia to have
support and education out of profits of land and use of personal property
until she is 21 or married and then have $200 paid by William A. and Peter
M. Executors to divide among children as each reaches 21 - personal
property.  Conditions stated if wife refuses to accept provision and claims
dower.  Appoint brother-in-law Samuel White and brother Peter B. Teater and
Ambrose COREY executors and guardian for each child.  Signed John M.

Joseph Corey, Samuel S. White, Independence.  Codicil.  Alters will to
obligate two eldest sons Andrew and Peter to pay daughter Lydia Melvina
$200 and will not alter any part of will made 14 May 1839.  Codicil dated
20 May 1839.  Recorded 15 June 1840.  (1 unnumbered side)
