The last Will & Testament of Jane Armstrong, deceased

In the name of God, Amen. I Jane Armstrong of Angelica in the County of
Allegany, being mindfull of my mortality do this twentieth day of June in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty five, make and publish
this my last Will & testament in manner following:

First. I desire to be decently and orderly buried, without any funeral pomp
and with as little expense as may be.

I give and bequeath to my daughter Jane Armstrong two beds and bedding and two
bedsteads.

I give and bequeath unto my daughter Dorothy Mapes the sum of five Dollars to
be paid in sixty days after my decease.

I give and bequeath unto my granddaughter Mary Ann Bryers two beds and bedding
and two bedsteads, six fancy chairs, one bureau, one fall leaf table, one cow,
one tea kettle, one striped carpet and all my clothes & wearing apparel.

All the rest of my personal property and residue whatsoever, of what nature,
kind and quality soever, and wheresoever the same may be and not herein before
given and disposed of (after payments of my debts legacies and funeral
expenses) I do give and bequeath unto my son James Armstrong his heirs
executors admistrators orassigns to his and their own useand benefit
absolutely. And I do hereby constitute and appoint my son James Armstrong sole
Executor of this my last will & testament.

In witnesses whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year
first above written.

The above instrument consisting of one half sheet was now here subscribed by
Jane Armstrong the testatrix in the presence of each of us and was at the same
time declared by her to be her last will and testament and we at her request
signed our names hereto as attesting witnesses.
