Record of the Will of AUGUST DAUTREMONT Deceased
In the Name of God Amen
I, AUGUSTUS DAUTREMONT, of Fillmore, Allegany County, NY being in my sixty-
seventh year and being of sound mind and memory do make publish and declare this 
my last Will and Testament.
First: I will and direct that all of my debts and funeral expenses to first paid.
Second: I appoint WM. P. BROOKS of Fillmore, New York executor of this my last 
Will and Testament and I give devise and bequeath to my said Executor WM. P. 
BROOKS in trust all my real and personal estate and I give him full power to 
sell so much of and such part of my real and personal estate as is necessary to 
pay my debts and funeral expenses and to give any and all deed or deeds of the 
same necessary therefore
Third:  It is my desire that my wife MARY DAUTREMONT and my daughters ADALINE  
DAUTREMONT, JULIA COLBURN and CAROLINE CLARK shall reside together in my home in 
Fillmore, NY as they have in the past and I direct my said Executor to pay over 
to my said wife and children above named as long as they shall remain and live 
together as one family all the income and profits from  my said estate to be 
used by my said wife and children for their joint living.
The object of this clause of my will is that my said wife and children shall 
remain together and live as one family the same as before my decease.
Fourth:  In case any of my said children does not desire to live as a member of 
the family with my said wife as provided for in the third clause of this Will 
then the income and profits of my said estate I direct to be paid by my said 
Executor to the remainder of my said children and my said wife for their joint 
living.
Fifth:  Upon the death of my said wife I direct that all of my estate for both 
real and personal be sold and the proceeds thereof be distributed equally 
between my daughters JULIA COLBURN, ADALINE  DAUTREMONT, and CAROLINE CLARK, and 
if either of my said daughters die before my said wife then the share of said 
daughter shall go to the descendents of said deceased daughter.
Sixth:  I hereby direct my said Executor to cancel and destroy all notes or 
evidence of indentures which I may have against my daughter JULIA COLBURN at the 
time of my death and the said indebtedness is not to be deducted from the share 
of said JULIA COLBURN under this Will.
Seventh:   I have already given my sons LUCIEN and GEORGE DAUTREMONT their share 
of my estate therefore no provision is made for them herein.
Eighth:  The provisions of this will made for the benefit of my wife MARY 
DAUTREMONT is intended to be and is given in full satisfaction of her dower 
right in my real estate.
And I hereby revoke all former Wills by me made.
In Witness Whereof I have herewith set my hand and seal this 15th day of October 
in the year One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty Eight.

The above instrument consisting of two sheets was at the date thereof signed 
sealed published and declared by the said AUGUSTUS DAUTREMONT as and for the 
last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his 
presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as 
witnesses thereto:

	Be it Remembered That on the day of the date hereof the Last Will and 
Testament of AUGUSTUS DAUTREMONT late of the Town of Hume in the County of 
Allegany and State of New York deceased being the within and forgoing written 
instrument was duly proved before CLARENCE A. FARNUM Esq., Surrogate of the said 
County according to law as and for the Last Will and Testament of the real and 
personal estate of the said deceased which said Last Will and Testament and the 
proofs and examinations taken thereon are recorded in this office.
	In Testimony Whereof, the Surrogate of the said County hath hereunto set 
his hand and affixed his seal of office, this 19 day of September A. D. 1889.

In the Matter of Proving the Last Will and Testament of AUGUST DAUTREMONT 
Deceased

	CHARLES HAINES AND FRANK E. HAINES being first duly sworn in open Court 
each for himself doth depose and say that he is a subscribing witness to the 
Last Will and Testament of AUGUSTUS DAUTREMONT late of the Town of Hume in the 
County of Allegany and State of New York deceased.  And these deponents do 
further say that the said AUGUSTUS DAUTREMONT deceased did in the presence of 
each of these deponents subscribe his name at the end of the instrument in 
writing which is now here shown to these deponents and which purports to be the 
last Will and Testament of the said deceased and which bears date on the 15th 
day of October one thousand eight hundred and eighty eight.  That said deceased 
died on or about the 28th day of March 1889 at Fillmore, Alle. Co., N.Y. That 
the said deceased did at the time of subscribing his name to said instrument as 
aforesaid declare the same to be his last Will and Testament his last Will and 
Testament and these deponents did respectfully subscribe their own names at the 
end of said instrument as attending witnesses to the execution thereof each at 
the request of the said deceased and in his presence and in the presence of each 
other That the said deceased at the time of so subscribing his name to said 
instrument as aforesaid and publishing said instrument as aforesaid was of full 
age: that he appeared to be and deponents believe he was of sound mind, memory 
and understanding and not under any restraint did as deponents verify believe in 
all respects competent to devise real estate that each of these deponents saw 
the other sign his name to the said instrument in the presence of the said 
deceased.
