Crandall, William F.            
CLIFTON PARK William F. Crandall passed on September 1, 2004, at his loving
daughter's home. He was the son of the late Barbara and William Crandall. Bill
was predeceased by his wife, Margaret H. and his daughter, Kathy Roth. He was
born in Troy, N.Y. on September 15, 1917. His family moved to Watervliet in
1928. He was educated in the Watervliet School System. He enlisted in the Army
Air Corp. in 1942. He was an instructor of electrical circuits for airplane
equipment. He was discharged in 1946 at the rank of sergeant. Mr. Crandall
retired from the U.S. Post Office, Troy, after a long career as a mail
handler. He was a longtime member of NARFE and a member of the American
Legion, Halfmoon. He enjoyed his last years by traveling with his longtime
companion, Lois DelGuidice of Waterford. He will be missed by his daughter,
Marge Brahm, Clifton Park and his son-in-law, John L. Brahm of Latham; his
son, William and wife Janet, Watervliet; his brother, John, Latham; his
sister-in-law, Kay Withkowski (John), Troy. He was the beloved grandfather of
Kevin Brahm, Clifton Park, William, Michael and Jennie Crandall, Watervliet,
Kim Luallen, Valatie, Kellie Downes, Rensselaer and Kevin Roth, Valatie. He
also leaves behind several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 12 at 3:00 p.m. at Grace
Episcopal Church, 34-3 St., Waterford. At his request, Bill donated his body
to the Anatomical Gift Program at Albany Medical College.
