Campbell, Marion S.             
VOORHEESVILLE Marion E. (Stoney) Campbell, 93, formerly of Voorheesville,
N.Y., died Thursday, August 26, 2004 in Radius Health Care Center of Millbury,
Ma. Born in Chemnitz, Germany of American parents, Joseph H. and Mabel W.
(Watson) Stoney. Mrs. Campbell, a homemaker, also later worked for the
Voorheesville Savings & Loan, served as a secretary for the American Cancer
Society's Red Door in Albany, N.Y., Voorheesville Central Schools and retired
from the New York State Department of Health's Dental Division. Mrs. Campbell
was a resident of Voorheesville most of her adult life. She was a member of
the Voorheesville First Methodist Church for over 50 years, where she served
as a W.S.C.S. representative to the Troy Conference and in many of the
church's programs. Mrs. Campbell was selected as the 1998 honoree of National
Women's History Month at the church. She also served the community as a Cub
Scout den mother, was a member of the Helderberg Twirlers Square Dance Club,
the American Red Cross blood drive program and the local chapter of the
American Association of Retired Persons. Mrs. Campbell was predeceased in 1998
by her husband, Frank C. Campbell, whom she married in Gilbertsville, N.Y. on
October 31, 1936. She leaves two sons, John W. Campbell and his wife Nancy of
Olympia, Wash. and Robert F. Campbell and his wife Ann of Millbury, Mass.; a
sister, Helen McDaniel of Gainsville, Fla.; four grandchildren, Deborah,
Robert and his wife Donna, Christie, Scott and his wife Nancy; two
great-grandchildren, Sarah and Andrew. She was predeceased by a brother,
Joseph Stoney. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, October
10, in the First United Methodist Church, 68 Maple Ave., Voorheesville, NY
12186. Mrs. Campbell donated her body to the University of Massachusetts
Medical School, in Worcester, Mass. for medical research. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be made to the Voorheesville Memorial Fund of the
