Biette, Charles L.         
HALFMOON Charles L. Biette of Halfmoon, 82, died suddenly Saturday afternoon,
September 25, 2004 at Albany Medical Center. Born October 24, 1921 in Little
Falls, N.Y., he was the son of the late Charles and Matilda Noonan Biette. He
lived in Halfmoon for the past 80 years. He was an Army veteran serving in
World War II in the European Theatre. Charles worked for the West Virginia
Pulp and Paper Co. as a steam turbine operator for 28 years before working for
the Saratoga County Treatment Plant for eight years retiring in 1985. Charles
was a member of the VFW in Mechanicville, Corpus Christi Church, Halfmoon
Senior Citizens and one of the founding members of the Hill Crest Fire
Department. He enjoyed family gatherings and was an avid New York Yankee's
fan. Charles never missed his great-nephew's baseball or football games.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Estella Rever Biette of Halfmoon;
three sisters, Catherine Chase of Mechanicville, Joan Reckner of Clifton Park
and Barbara Sears of Mechanicville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral
Mass Wednesday 9:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church in the Round Lake Church.
Calling hours Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home, Inc.,
1597 Rte. 9, Clifton Park. Burial, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford. Memorial
contributions may be made to Clifton Park Halfmoon Emergency Corp or the
American Heart Association.
